OPA in Chattanooga

We were excited to read the good reviews, but very disappointed with the real experience. The place was very much like real Greece, but for 2 adults, 2 children and 2 glasses of wine they charged us $98 and this included 1 plate of food each, no appetizers or desserts, no hummus, no feta, just a very small salad/pasta/a few pieces of meat and a piece of pita. Not worth $21 a plate and we felt taken advantage of. Just a heads up!

Amazing four course meal at a great price! The most unique dining experience that I have ever had. I will definitely be going back.

Hands down the best Greek food I've ever had. Super cool dining experience. One guy cooking and bringing you your meal. He's incredible. It's makes you slow down, relax, and enjoy your company. Love. Love. Love.

I love this place! There is no menu. You choose whether you want the meat or veggie option and you'll get an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Anywhere else and I would be concerned about not having a menu...but not here. It has been consistently delicious every time and I am perfectly happy with whatever they choose to put in front of me!

Charming, cozy spot in Chattanooga that makes you feel like you are at Yiayia’s! The food is authentic Greek food and Michael is a wonderful and gracious host!! We even got to break plates! Highly recommend.

I wish I could give this place more stars! The service was TOP notch even when they were slammed. Friendly staff.. the food was amazing.. and the environment was peaceful. Definitely an experience worth trying. Will be back next time in Chattanooga!

Its a small little place in the corner of downtown. I’m not sure if this is normal but we did not get a menu and he basically fed us different plates. First, he gave us this unsweetened drink which was green tea with other flavors. Second, he gave us appetizers for us to split with each other. Third, he gave us the main meal which consisted of vegetables, chicken, lamb, etc. Lastly, we got a dessert that tasted like brownies with a slight crunch at the top.I’m not sure if it’s like this only on the weekends but we didn’t get a menu. My favorite part was the meat section in the main course. They weren’t too tender or hard but just right.

Food is incredible. the 3 course chef special was perfect. Truly authentic greek, beautifully decorated and cozy. Outdoor and indoor seating are both very quaint and the staff is very attentive and accommodating. We’re lucky we decided to walk and find a restaurant for tonight instead of searching because the hours are wrong on google for this place.

Really good food, great service. Pretty pricey, but you do get a lot of food. Feels like very authentic Greek food. They only serve one meal at lunch (and a vegetarian plate), which I think is cool. Definitely will go back.

If I could give Opa and Michael (the owner) 6 stars I would! This place smashes any other restaurant out of the park. Fresh NEVER frozen food. Michael goes out of his way to accommodate you and your people. No hassle with ordering— the food comes right out plate after plate from the second you sit down. Michael is charming, hilarious, and kind. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is the way you like it. And throws in plenty of to-go boxes with appetizers and desserts. This a dining EXPERIENCE not just a restaurant. Not to mention the gorgeous Grecian backgrounds/decor in every inch of his restaurant. I’ll never be able to go to anywhere else! Opa!

Absolutely loved this place. Literally felt like we were in Greece with the ambiance and hospitality. We were greeted with appetizers and tea, owner make a fabulous plate for all of us, including the children. The best Greek food we have EVER eaten. Kids ate every bite, as well as adults. The wine was great and price was a steal. Sorry we don't live local so we can come back. Definitely a must in Chattanooga.

This place is beyond amazing! I never miss a chance to eat here when visiting Chattanooga. The fact that they don’t have a menu and serve a daily special is part of what makes this place so special and unique. $18 is a BARGAIN for a three course meal that’s also includes their delicious tea. 😋 The atmosphere is so charming and unique and the food is absolutely delicious! Never disappoints!

Opa could be OMG! What a jewel on the north shore of Chatt! Exquisitely prepared food using fresh ingredients served in courses in a Greek ambiance setting. Everything was delicious including the house wine. The meal was topped with the most moist, light and delicious chocolate layer cake I have ever eaten. This restaurant is a gem for Chatt. and the S.E. USA!

The food was amazing. Super special experience compared to other restaurants. Contrary to what the negative reviews say, there is indeed a menu posted on the wall with prices. The restaurant is run like you're in someone's home. The chef decides what's for lunch or dinner that day and it includes a drink, appetizer, meal and dessert. It is pricey but absolutely worth it!

Owner is the chef. All fresh and home made. Extremely decent price, 3 course dinner. You come, seat and they bring the food. No menu. Outstanding healthy and tasty Mediterranean food!

A perfectly magical dining experience. My husband and I enjoyed a 3-course meal that was delicious and fresh! No menu, no problem--just know your food is going to be SUBLIME with heaping portions. We also loved the laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff! We ate on an outdoor patio that was breezy, shaded, and transported us to some special alcove in Greece. We will definitely be back! Thank you for such a special experience.

This place is a Chattanooga treasure. The food, Michael, & the ambience are amazing! I’ve been here twice - once for dinner with my fiancée and once for a private event (my grandmother’s 96th birthday). I highly recommend this place for either a meal or private event. The food is absolutely incredible, and Michael makes sure you are full & happy. I can’t stress enough how amazing the food and people are. For my grandmother’s birthday, it was honestly probably the best private event I’ve ever been to. Michael and his staff were so nice & have such good hearts - I have not seen my grandma so happy in years! Everyone raved about the food and the amazing staff. I hope to keep coming back here for many, many years. If you want delicious and authentic Greek food, come to this place. If you want to meet Michael & his amazing staff, come here. You will not regret it!

My husband and I ate here in December while visiting Chattanooga. When we arrived, there were no other customers, so my husband wanted to leave; but I talked him into staying. I told him we could have the entire tiny restaurant to ourselves; it would be romantic. There were no menus. The owner lets you know its a full course meal of authentic cuisine. I absolutely loved it! My husband said it was okay (he came in a skeptic though)...it was definitely an experience we won't forget lol

Loved the atmosphere! The decor was eclectic and fitting. Wonderful for a date. The food is spot on, and the server was perfectly pleasant. It’s a different experience than most - there is no menu. The chef has an app, entree, and dessert for the day. That’s what you get. The only question asked was if we wanted it with the meat or as a vegetarian dish. 10 out of 10, would go again!

OPA catered my wedding last month, and we were so delighted with the quality of the food! HUGE portions, great variety, and wonderful servers. While I binged on Greek food for the whole weekend, I can't wait to go back and get more. Everything was terrific- lamb, chicken, appetizers and dessert.

My wife and i went into the restaurant. They were completely empty. Owner seemed very annoyed we were there when we asked for a table. He walked in the back with his host. The host came back and said there was no table for us. Restaurant was EMPTY. Will never go back.

An incredible unique setting with proprietors who truly care about the food they're serving. I'd suggest avoiding the menu and letting them serve you whatever they suggest. You won't be disassapointed.

You don't order but you won't be disappointed! Best Greek food inn Chattanooga, TN! There is plenty of seating from inside to outside, higher patio or lower. Has an amazing ambiance to it. Definitely a must if visiting or living in Chattanooga, TN.

This was the best experience I had in a while. The business owner is so nice !! He won’t serve food he would not want to eat himself . Little cottage in Coolidge Park 5hat has a private garden in the center. No menu as chef serves what he decides. Pop and son duo...it’s an experience 💯

DO NOT SUPPORT this crooked person. Extremely arrogant with absolutely no customer service skills. He is an awful man who rips people off. On the menu online it says 12 dollars for a platter and when you go there, he charges 24 dollars for a platter. The food was late 40 minutes and he did not care at all or never said he was sorry. I asked him why the food had a different price on the menu and he refused to give us the food and was extremely rude to us. So we left with no food after all the waiting. I have never experienced such a thing anywhere. He has no care for people and is a terrible person indeed. I would never go back and recommend that if you do go, check the prices and make sure he doesn’t rip you off.

The best Greek food Ive ever had! This place is more than a gem but rather a treasure! Our must eat at place now when we come to Chattanooga! Just come inside and sit down. You eat what is prepared. You will not be disappointed!

One of the best restaurants in town! Michael creates amazing home cooking in a cozy, friendly atmosphere. No menus, just a simple choice of today's "meat" or "vegetable" entree. A favorite place!

Just had your food delivered through uber eats. After months of wanting to try your food, I finally was able to. This is hands down, without question, the best and most authentic Greek cuisine I've had since I was stationed in Europe 2007. Thank you for the quick and amazingly delicious memories in the form of food! You just became a regular in my dining out! Gluttonusly in my happy place now.

The roast chicken dish was absolutely delicious! Hands down the best Mediterranean cuisine I have had to date. If you're on the North Shore in Chattanooga, this quaint little gem is a must try spot!

The food was authentic and delicious. There is no menu but don’t let that scare you. There are meat, vegetarian and vegan options available. So go eat your hearts out!!!

We Celebrated our daughter’s birthday at Opa. The food was beyond Superior! Michael was so friendly and charming. We loved eating here, it was an absolutely FANTASTIC dining experience. Very unique experience and great food.

My wife and I went here for the first time yesterday, and we were blown away by quality and deliciousness of the food, but more importantly by the friendliness of Michael. He treated all of the customers the same way. We loved the fact that when you come in you get whatever he has planned to serve for lunch that day. He will ask if you have any dietary restrictions, but other then that he gives you a multi coarse Greek lunch. We loved it and we will be back.

I love the food and decor there. It’s healthy, delicious and has a beautiful atmosphere. Excellent staff as well and wonderful location near the river and park.

The food is amazing, authentic and so so fresh. We had 2 appetizers, a main course and a dessert and still only were charged $35 a person, what an incredible deal for the amount of food we had. Like others are saying there is no menu, the owner Michael picks what he wants to make and I love that! He came out personally and let us all break plates to celebrate the birthday boy and girl. It was so cool! Will definitely be back again! Best restaurant in Chattanooga!

It was our first anniversary and I am so glad we chose this place. It really takes you out of Chattanooga and is so unique. It's about 24.50 a person for dinner, 3 courses and a drink. Food was fresh and lovely, I left feeling full but light. Demetri (I hope that's how you spell it!) was so sweet and such a great waiter. He was so swamped being the only one but his positive attitude and friendly smile every time is a rarity. Thank you again for our wonderful night, we will be back! -Kaitlyn and Jeffrey

We went to the rooftop and got to see the sun set while enjoying an authentic Greek meal! Such an enjoyable experience. The owner is Greek and makes all the food himself. Talking with him was definitely a highlight!!

We absolutely loved our experience here! It was the best meal experience we had in Chattanooga. They refilled our wine as many as times as needed and were so kind. The salad and hummus appetizer blew our minds, and the chicken with the main course literally fell off the bone. Everything was so fresh and tasted like it came straight from the Mediterranean. Our food came quickly and service was excellent - they even stayed open later to accommodate our reservation. Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a unique experience. We felt like we were in another world! Next time we’re in Chattanooga, this is on our must-visit list!
